The Bible is more than one book. It is a collection of books compiled to bring us knowledge of God. The first section of the Bible includes the Old Testament - information about people and events leading up to the birth of Jesus. Here we learn about creation, Abraham, Moses, the Judges, the Kings and the Prophets. The Old Testament is entirely Jewish, which is what Jesus was. The New Testament begins with the birth of Jesus. In the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, we learn about Jesus from those who lived with Him and knew Him intimately. Then we move onto to letters written by disciples to the various communities as they traveled to spread the Word of God.
